Title: "Rhapsody in Blue" Chaos Air Trap Marble
Artist: Bashi Alé
Signed by Artist: Yes
Dimensions: 1.75"
Process: Flamework/Lampwork
Material: Borosilicate

Notes -
This marble is from my original "Chaos Air Trap" series. Each air trap is backed with a color called "Rhapsody in Blue" and then twisted together with cobalt blue glass to
form a "chaotic", tornado like, pattern. The back is decorated with a beautiful Unobtainium, White and Aqua Azul raked swirl that comes to a perfect termination point.
Included with this marble is a hand-carved wood display stand that adds to the works organic feel.

BeadmonkiBorosilicate glass off mandrel chain using random shorts in blue and clear hues. I inserted clear boro barbells through each loop of chain with a homemade simple silver glass murrini encased at each end. The chain and the barbells all move freely and the clasp is also glass to match the necklace. One Barbell has tiny homemade clown-fish murrini just for fun!Aug 24, 2010

ArtBumpsThis is a Raku-Fired natural Terra Cotta clay mixed media wall sculpture measuring 16" x 6" x 2 1/2".
I dug the clay from my parents farm in WI. I dried smashed up, picked out all the stones, and reconstituted the clay.
(I used shredded financial statements as my combustible material)
After bisque firing, I glazed the piece with my own homemade vitreous stains and glazes, then raku-fired it.
The sculpture incorporates brass and copper wires, a glass bottle filled with the raw dried clay, parts from my
grandfather's watch, Lampwork beads by myself, Vonna Maslanka, and a disk by Liz Long. There are also fresh water pearls,
labradorite beads, vintage wood, brass, and glass beads. I handmade the chain using square brass and round copper wires.

JVMixed Media Organic Necklace consisting of low fire white earthenware clay (pit fired) which I pilfered out of a plastic box that I found in Art BuMPs closet. The abstract focals have czech seed beads that fused into the clay forming the the glaze. Clay Barrels and Spacers came from the same plastic box. The ceramic bead dangle was free formed by myself then Raku Fired using Armadillo Clay from Mac Kilns. My Lampwork big hole bead is a combination of CIM Glass and Double Helix. The rest of the elements were acquired by recycling a bracelet I had on my wrist. The other Lampwork beads from the bracelet are by Stephanies Beads. I also incorporated faceted 8 mm Labradorite gemstone rounds, fresh water coin pearls, Bali Sterling Silver & .925 Sterling Silver findings, and Antique Brass Chain I had on my purse. Necklace measures 20" in diameter.May 01, 2010

ElasiaUsing SoftFlex Extreme Medium in 925 silver, I used pearls and beads from a broken bracelet I actually found at the beach haha. Leaves are from a manipulated soda can, and washers I honestly can't remember what they were from, I save most anything that can be made into jewelry. It looks pokey and sharp but it's not, my mother's been wearing it almost daily since I made it, she 'stole' it!Jan 31, 2010
Alysa_Harron.JPG
Alysa HarronThis bracelet was created using entirely scavenged materials, plus SoftFlex wire. The black tubing is the insulating material around the individual strands in telephone wire. Each quadrilateral structure was created seperately and then looped together during construction.

Mary_Thomason.jpg
Mary ThomasonI made my necklace using broken beads donated by a friend. This is my first time melting glass, although I've been stringing it for many years. I slumped the broken beads in my microwave kiln, then applied silver foil to the back of the cabs and epoxied them to the bails. They are strung on Soft Flex Silver E$xtreme, heavy gauge. The clasp is sterling with an iolite stone.Jan 30, 2010
